Ariel Blau

Ariel Blau has an impressive skill for connecting and engaging with his clients in a way that promotes change and joy. He started working with teens in his native Argentina, and has since amassed an impressive record of facilitating change with young adults and people of all ages. He is the catalyst you need to shift things in your life.

Ariel's education includes a Master's degree in Social Work from New York University, a Master's in Fine Arts from Brandeis University, and a great number of workshops, certificates and seminars. His passion for helping others is matched by an enormous passion for learning.

Ariel completed his professional training at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, and other settings at Yale New Haven Health, working with groups of young adults suffering from co-occurring conditions. At Yale, he also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with Dr. Seth Axelrod, PhD and in Expressive Therapies with Janet Brodie.

Additional experience includes providing trauma-informed individual therapy for children, adolescents and their families at the Clifford Beers Child Guidance Clinic in New Haven, and as the Lead Clinician providing individual, couple and family therapy at the Jewish Family Service of Greater New Haven, in the USA. Ariel received a National Association of Social Workers award for his work and contributions to therapy with underprivileged minorities at Clifford Beers.

Earlier in his career, Ariel served as professor of Cross-Disciplinary Creativity, Experimental Performance and Puppet Theater at the Evergreen State College, in Olympia, Washington. He advised and counselled more than 1700 students.

As an artist, Ariel worked as a director and designer for live and hybrid performance and was the founding member of two collaborative theater companies one in New York city and one in Olympia, WA. In Olympia, he also founded the Performance Laboratory for Objects and Puppets (PLOP!), a space to foster wild innovation and creativity.

Ariel received a National Endowment for the Arts award and a fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council (Rockefeller Brother's Fund) to research mystical puppetry in Bali, Indonesia. He also received  several awards from the Henson Foundation for his imaginative Puppet Theater productions.

Ariel Blau brings a sense of active engagement, innovation, and imagination to his work as a catalyst for change, responding to the idea that every person's life is a work in progress.
