GROUP WORKSHOP: DBT SKILLS - 8 weeks

This group is for people interested in a short term course on regulating emotions. If you are overwhelmed by your feelings (anxiety, fear), overrun by emotions (anger, rage), or expect life not to affect your emotions (expectations that don't match your emotional experience), this is the group for you. It repeats twice or thrice a year for those who need a refresher.

DBT is a form of Cognitive Behavior Therapy originally developed by psychologist Marsha Linehan to help people who resort to self-destructive behaviors. It has been since expanded to be used widely for all kinds of conditions. It combines mindfulness with a manualized series of structured exercises that are customized for each participant. It requires weekly "homework" that is then processed with the group in the workshop.  Each workshop is 2 hours long.

ADULTING GROUP - ONGOING

This group is designed for those who feel that becoming an adult in this day and age seems like a daunting process. Where is the manual? The instructions? Based on what the group needs, we will try to figure out what you need to become the adult you were meant to be. From sex to laundry, dating to finances, or whatever the group chooses, this mutual support group will run in sessions of 8 weeks. Themes will change according to group interest.

A screening meeting with the facilitator is required to ensure effective group composition.
