TIP for Depression
TIP OF THE DAY: The good news about depressive conditions is neuro-plasticity. Neuro-plasticity is the ability of the brain to change and reconfigure itself through experience.
By purposefully engaging in more positive thinking, such as identifying positive aspects of your life, even when you are under the gloom of depression, you can increase the chances of using other circuits more and negativity circuits less.
As you change your thinking, the body changes organically, the brain changes and this can start to move you away from depression. The increased positivity also affects the availability of neuro-transmitters, which helps relieve some of the energy drain that is characteristic of depression.
